BREAK THE CHAINS

Break the Chains
Help Prepare The Inmates - In 2018 there were 2.5 to 2.8 million inmates incarcerated in some 4,575 local, state and federal correctional institutions in America. Statistics show that 70 to 80% of released inmates are back in prison within 3 years of release. However, in prisons that offer a faith-based program of educational courses, discipline is improved, attitudes are improved, and recidivism is declining. YOU can help inmates find Christ, and find direction and purpose using Biblical principles.

About Us

Inmate Ministry Resources is a ministry designed to put discipleship materials in the hands of prison inmates. The flagship course is entitled Living On Purpose, and is written primarily by Robert N (Bob) Riddle, who served 8 ½ years of a 10-year sentence as an inmate in the Florida State Prison system and was released in March, 2018. The other most-requested course is The TRUTH Series, a compilation of 12 lessons dealing with theological and doctrinal truths.

Prisons do not have funds available for spiritual development courses for inmates, so all materials are purchased by church groups, Sunday School classes, other Christian groups or personal benefactors , then donated and distributed to correctional institutions as they are requested. Right now there are 100,500 inmates in the Florida correctional system alone, with a possibility of 10% of them desiring to take the Living On Purpose course. Living On Purpose is available in both English and Spanish, and is shipped in each language as requested by the correctional institution. An inmate must be within 3-5 years of release in order to take this course.

    TESTIMONIAL
This is my 5th time in prison. I have 28 months left on this 6 year sentence. I am 36 years old and have finally begun to understand that I have ruined my life trying to please my Daddy who hated me. Thanks to Mr. Riddle I now know I have a real Father who loves me.- Charles T.

The Importance of Restoration in the Reentry Process, Part III

Continuing our exploration of the Biblical teaching on the topic of Restoration, let’s quickly review the major ideas presented in the previous blog.  First, ALL Christians are commanded to proactively demonstrate the identical forgiveness we have received from God through Christ.  As we’ll see, our Lord does not suggest this; He commands it.  Second, there are two […]

The Importance of Restoration in the Reentry Process, Part II

In the previous blog we discussed the Biblical principle of RESTORATION as a primary component of successful reentry and transition.  The conviction was expressed that every mature Christian is called to the work of restoring the fallen.  It is hard work, time consuming and the stronger, healthy Christian who answers the call to link hearts with […]

The Importance of Restoration in the Reentry Process

In previous blogs we have discussed various topics related to inmates and their reentry and transition to civilian life.  The process is never easy, many fail at the attempt and thus, recidivism rates are inexcusably high.  However, there is a common thread to be observed among those inmates who succeed in the process.  They are […]
