Every year prison chaplaincy budgets are cut drastically. In some areas they are being eliminated altogether. Volunteers are welcome, however, as a cost-efficient replacement for many prison religious programs. Unfortunately, some of these programs have little resemblance to the solid, accurate Biblical teaching inmates desperately need.
To address this need IMR is actively recruiting volunteer facilitators to be trained for this vital ministry. Volunteer facilitators are needed for both English and Spanish classes. Bilingual volunteers, of course, are preferred, but not required. You need not be a trained teacher to participate. You must, however, possess a teachable spirit and meet other minimum requirements.
